The White Rose

NEW PAINTING!! - "The White Rose"

Last weekend was the opening of Light Grey Art Lab ‪Botanica show in Minneapolis. I'm so happy to reveal my piece for the show. It was inspired by a poem of the same name by John Boyle O'Reilly.

I was honoured to be asked to be a part of this show and just wish I could have been at the opening. Check out the Light Grey Art Lab website to see the work of 125 fabulous artists and the opportunity to buy both original pieces and prints.

It was a pleasure working with this gallery and I hope to have the opportunity to work together again in future.

"101010"

New painting: “101010”

Managed to sneak this in before the deadline for Month of Love's "Fantasy" challenge.

Ever since watching “Ex Machina”, I have been mildly obsessed with the film. I really wonder where the future will take us and what our relationships with robots will become. Somehow I feel that the future we saw in “Ex Machina” isn’t too far away. smile emoticon

I also wanted to say thanks you to Kristina for organising the Month of Love. I have really enjoyed taking part this year and it has really pushed me to do more personal work. Congratulations to everyone who has taken part. The inspiration I have gleaned through looking at everyone’s work has been tremendous!

Saltire Exhibition - Dundee Comics Day

This past weekend was the Dundee Literary festival and as part of that, Saltire Comics held an exhibition showing all the artwork from their comic. I was honoured to be asked to contribute my painting of Saltire (the main character and superhero in the comic) to the exhibition.

Entry for the Art Order Challenge - Ares and Aphrodite

After living in Greece for 8 years, I have always wanted to paint Greek Mythology inspired art. The contest ran by Jon Schindehette at The Art Order was the perfect opportunity. This painting depicts Greek Gods Ares and Aphrodite and their forbidden love.

Open for Commissions!!

Hi folks!

I'll be looking to take on some commissions over the next couple of months so if you would like me to work for you, whether it be portraits, pet portraits, character design, concept art, cover art or something else, get in touch!

Here is some info on how I usually work:

- Payment through Paypal.

- Minimum payment of 50% upfront.

- I reserve the rights to the artwork, and the right to show it here on my portfolio.

- A high resolution 300dpi image will be produced

- An open, communicative relationship is preferred. Give me as many ideas as you can to ensure I see what your vision is and in return, regular updates on my progress.

- Prices vary for each job. Once I hear the job, we can discuss payment together.

- If you like my work, and think we could work together, email me on info@kevinmcgivern.com with your requirements and we can take it from there.
