David Bowie Portrait

So......after tearing my ankle ligaments this week, I've had more down time than I expected! On the plus side, it gave me more time to finish this Bowie painting! Hope you all like!

David Bowie portrait process

Been so busy with client work recently, that I've not had much time to do personal work. But whilst waiting for some feedback, I started working on a David Bowie portrait.

Jimi Hendrix Portrait

I've been doing a lot of caricature and character illustration client work recently so in my down time, i have been working on this portrait of legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix. Continuing with my efforts to keep loose brush strokes, not undo, and not zooming in, I'm slowly creeping towards a look I am happy with.

I hope everyone's 2015 has started off well and let's see what this year brings!

Calvin Harris portrait

With the good weather we've been having recently, it made me think of the amazing summer tunes Calvin Harris churns out year after year! I decided to paint him to get me even more in the summer mood!

I'll have some process shots of this one to show shortly. I'm finally reachin a way of working and a style I am kinda happy with. (For now!)

Enough fun for now, back to serious work! ;)

p.s. I don't know whats up with blogger but it changes the colours slightly. To see the correct version, check out my tumblr here.. http://kevmcgivernart.tumblr.com

Calvin Harris WIP

A little update on my Calvin Harris painting (crop). Been pretty busy recently. Just finished a movie poster for a small indie movie which was lots of fun. And got a lot of work doing design work and marketing art for a miniatures company. Pretty difficult to stay indoors tho when its 30 deg outside! And yes, I am in Glasgow, Scotland!
